A different kind of flame ignited in Detroit, MI when D12 was formed. Kindled in underground clubs by all-night battle raps, elite cyphers, & shocking “did-he-really-just-say-that?” quips, D12 quietly lit a match that fully caught fire and set hip-hop ablaze with 2001’s classic full-length debut, Devil’s Night. The latter crashed the Billboard 200 at #1, went double-platinum, & yielded hits like “Purple Pills,” “Ain’t Nuttin’ But Music,” &“Fight Music.” Engulfing the game in their grip, the flames spread three years later with the arrival of D12 World in 2004. It saw the collective return to #1 on the Billboard 200, reach double-platinum status for the second consecutive time, & land their biggest smash to date with the Gold-certified Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 “My Band.” Along the way, they appeared on tracks with everyone from Gorillaz and 50 Cent to Tech N9ne and Funkmaster Flex. Everything changed when original founder and visionary Proof left this earth far too young in 2006. Keeping the spirit alive, the group released a handful of mixtapes over the ensuing years & continued touring, working to rebuild the brand & honor their legacy after their loss. In 2026, D12 made its long-awaited return. Honoring all of the members who helped shaped what this is, the collective’s long-awaited third full-length album, D12 Forever, is as dark, dynamic, dangerous, and definitive as their most influential fare. Driven by the core of Kuniva and Swifty McVay, D12 burn as brightly as ever.
