Jemmimah Thiong’o is a born-again Christian, wife, mother and grandmother from Nairobi, Kenya. She is an award-winning gospel singer, song writer and minister of the gospel of Christ. Her songs are inspired by the Holy Spirit to uplift people’s faith while bringing hope and reassurance to those who know Christ and salvation to them that are lost. The impact from her music is heartwarming and is recorded through testimonies from various parts of the world, all for the glory of God.
With more than three recorded albums to her name, she actively serves the body of Christ at the Membley Baptist Church as a member of the worship team, as well as occasionally ministering in other churches and Christian functions.
She is well-known for her songs such as Mwenye Baraka (a.k.a Akisema Atakubariki), Hakuna Linalomshinda, Mipango ya Mungu, Rafiki, Njoo Kwake Yesu, Imani, Sauti, Penya, Salama and Pendo la Ajabu, just to mention a few.
Jemmimah Thiong’o was the KORA Award Nominee for the Best Female Artist in 2004 as well as the KISIMA Awards Winner for both the Best Female Artist of the Year and the Gospel Ensembles Artist of the Year in 2007. In 2015, she was GROOVE Awards Winner for the Songwriter of the Year.
