Nacido en el circuito de Quinta Normal, los barrios históricos que le dieron una identidad al conjunto, La Nueva Imperial apareció como quinteto cultor de músicas de la vieja época, desde el foxtrot al bolero, donde el sonido del violín y el acordeón conducen el repertorio. Han recuperado ritmos y esencias de la música de la nostalgia y el salón de baile reinstalándola en los nuevos ambientes musicales.
La Nueva Imperial está formado por Sebastián Vásquez (voz y guitarra), Diego Galdames (violín), Lalo Vásquez (contrabajo) y Camilo Morales (percusión), y sus discos son Homónimo (2013), un EP de cuatro temas, y el larga duración Postales (2017), donde está representada la Quinta Normal de la bohemia y el paisaje nocturno de sus calles.
El año 2018, lanzan el single Volemos Juntos en formato videoclip, el cual contó con la participación del destacado actor Gastón Salgado.
