Puma Blue is the alias of artist, producer & poet, Jacob Allen.
Originally finding recognition in the South London music scene for his falsetto vocal & dark, lo-fi textures, Puma Blue's music is noted for a blend of sensuality, intimate fragility & haunting, nocturnal ambience.
His live shows are well regarded & oft-repeat attended, performing with a band of close friends, blending jazz-influenced improvisation with a vocal energy often likened to Jeff Buckley.
After early acclaim followed a couple of demos, he first gained wider attention with his EPs Swum Baby (2017) & Blood Loss (2018). His debut album In Praise Of Shadows was released in 2021, followed by concert-film 'A Late Night Special'.
His second album Holy Waters, a darker, band-focused meditation on the acceptance of death, was released in 2023 & hailed a triumph.
In 2025 it was followed by surprise album antichamber, announced mere hours before release, an ambient, stripped-back body of work featuring obscure, minimalist arrangements & field recordings.
Jacob also frequently collaborates with friends & peers, such as Loyle Carner, Biig Piig & long time confidant SALPA, garnering note for his touch as a producer.
Jacob has also been known to publish poems, make music under the moniker Ruby Bliels, as well as short films available on his YouTube channel. He has cited Portishead, D'Angelo, Jeff Buckley, Burial, Radiohead, Deftones & John Frusciante among his biggest influences, & currently lives in Atlanta.
