Give me a pen and an empty studio and I’ll write a whole album. Tell me to write something about myself and I suddenly don’t know where to start. There is just so much. But I do know this; If I can write down my thoughts and my feelings and create music out of that, the least I can do is write my own bio.


First off, my name is SELMA and I grew up in Rotterdam, Crooswijk to be exact (look it up, it’s part of me). We didn’t have a lot growing up, but we had enough. However, enough just wasn’t cutting it for me. I knew I wanted more. More of what you might think? All I knew was that I wanted to take care of my family and loved ones. I wanted to achieve success. Not just for me, but for all of us.


Now that’s out of the way, let’s talk music. Music has always been a part of me. It’s like magic if we really think about it. Expressing the way you feel and reflecting your emotions into songs to make people connect to you, and make them feel what I feel is a different type of euphoria. I can’t classify my style into one box, I love to try it all. Writing has always been a passion of mine. I used to endlessly write stories in high school, and I am blessed that I was able to turn that into songwriting. All I think about when I’m writing is what I want to say to the people that listen to my music.
