The Daughters of Eve are an all-girl-band first formed in Chicago, Illinois in 1965. The Daughters of Eve are famous for singing and playing their own instruments on pop rock hits rather than using a backing band, as most female performers did in the days of early garage bands. They are particularly known for their international hits, Hey Lover, Stand By Me, Help Me Boy, Symphony of My Soul, Don’t Waste My Time, He Cried, Social Tragedy and A Thousand Stars. The Daughters of Eve was managed by Chicago Radio icon, Carl Bonafede (The Screaming Wildman), also known for introducing the Buckinghams to teenage audiences everywhere. The Daughters of Eve toured nationally and were especially popular in performances for U.S. Service personnel, and teenage dances across the Midwestern United States. From 1965 to 1968 the band always consisted of founders Debi (drums) Pomeroy, Marsha (guitar, keyboards, vocals) Tomal, and Judy Johnson (guitar, vocals). Bass players included founding player, Andrea Levin (1965-1966), Marylou Davidson (1966-1967), and Lori Wax (1967-1968). Songs were released on USA Records, Cadet and Spectra Sound labels, and are prized collector’s items today. For more information, visit http://daughtersofeveofficial.com
